Rohit Sharma comes up with a surprise during India’s practice session | Cricket News – Times of India

Date:

Captain Rohit Sharma will be back to lead the team for the two-match home Test series against Bangladesh, having made his last appearance for India in the ODI leg of the Sri Lanka tour in early August.
The Indian team has been training in Chennai over the last weekend, preparing for the first Test beginning September 19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, and one of the net sessions saw Rohit playing a shot he seldom attempts in a match situation across formats.
Perhaps to counter the threat posed by Bangladesh spinners, the India captain was practising the reverse sweep, which could be seen in an image posted by a user on X.

Bangladesh are in India after their historic Test series win in Pakistan, where they not only registered their maiden Test victory over Pakistan, but also whitewashed the hosts (2-0) in their own backyard.
They won the first Test by 10 wickets and the second by 6 wickets, which saw a brilliant rally after the visitors saw themselves crashing to 26 for 6 in their first innings.
Bangladesh allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the top wicket-taker in the series with 10 wickets, while veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan took five with his left-arm spin.

India currently lead the World Test Championship table, while Bangladesh are at the fourth spot. After the Chennai Test, the two teams will lock horns in the second Test from September 27 in Kanpur.
That will follow a series of three T20Is on October 6, 9 and 12.
