WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The Coastal Athletic Association has announced an 18-game slate for the UNCW women’s basketball team for the 2024-25 season.
The Seahawks, who enter their second season under Head Coach Nicole Woods, will open CAA play against Campbell (Jan. 3) and Towson (Jan. 5) at Trask Coliseum following a 13-game non-conference schedule that brings UNCW’s total games to 31 this upcoming season.
UNCW will play 15 home games, 14 away games and two neutral site contests in San Juan, Puerto Rico over the Thanksgiving Holiday.
“We’re super excited. We get to go to some really nice places,” said Woods. “Everything that we’re going to focus on is about being our absolute best and getting one percent better each day. We believe we’ve got a talented roster with exciting players and will be a competitive team to anyone we play.”
Other home opponents include Monmouth (Jan. 19), Hofstra (Jan. 31), Stony Brook (Feb. 2), Elon (Feb. 14), Charleston (Feb. 16), North Carolina A&T (Feb. 28) and the home finale against Hampton (Mar. 6).
League road games on the docket include trips to Northeastern (Jan. 12), the Camels (Jan. 17), William & Mary (Jan. 24), Lady Pirates (Jan. 26), Delaware (Feb. 7), Drexel (Feb. 9), Tigers (Feb. 23), Cougars (Mar. 2) and the season finale at North Carolina A&T (Mar. 8).
The 2025 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship will be played Mar. 12-16, 2025, at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C., for the second straight season.
The 2024-25 UNCW women’s basketball roster features nine newcomers and six returners, including CAA All-Rookie guard Taylor Henderson. Among the new Seahawks are reigning CAA Sixth Player of the Year Jania Hall from Monmouth and North Carolina transfer Alexandra Zelaya.
