MSU Basketball continues to prioritize 5-star in-state CG Trey McKenney

Date:

Michigan State basketball is reportedly one of a few teams that is continuing to prioritize an elite guard in their own backyard.

Five-star combo guard Trey McKenney recently told HS Top Recruits that Michigan State was “in for him” this past week. Michigan was also in to see him this past week.

Additionally, McKenney said Michigan State, Michigan, Georgetown and USC have been in contact with thim the most recently.

McKenney — who hails from Flint, Mich. — ranks as the No. 3 combo guard in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2025 class. He is also ranked as the No. 1 player from Michigan and No. 20 overall prospect in the class.

McKenney is scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan this weekend and then a visit to Michigan State on October 4. He also has visits lined up with Oregon, Miami (FL) and Notre Dame for October and November, according to 247Sports.
