The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has scheduled an important meeting to discuss possible alterations in the national team’s leadership. The “Connection Camp,” which will convene on September 22, will bring together top PCB officials, coaches, and players for discussions and deliberations.

The primary purpose of the meeting will be to assess the current leadership status and consider potential candidates for new captains, specifically for the upcoming tour of Australia. Additionally, the conversations will delve into different facets of Pakistan cricket in order to pinpoint areas for enhancement and establish a trajectory for future triumph.

Key figures in Pakistan cricket, such as coaches Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten, will attend a meeting. As per Cricket Pakistan, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, and Shan Masood are among the cricketers who have been invited to the camp.

??Babar Azam, the current white-ball captain, is under scrutiny after the team’s performance in the Champions One-Day Cup. His absence from the tournament’s leadership role has led to speculation about his future as captain. It is increasingly likely that Babar Azam will be replaced as Pakistan’s white-ball captain before the upcoming tour of Australia.

The PCB is looking at other options for the leadership role and discussing several potential candidates. One of the names they’re considering for captain is Mohammad Rizwan. Rizwan might become Pakistan’s captain in all three game formats.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has stated that the coaches and selectors will be responsible for appointing the captains of the Pakistan men’s team.

“I have left these matters to them,” Geo News quoted Naqvi as saying. “A workshop is scheduled for September 22, where everyone will be invited to give their suggestions, and decisions will be made afterwards,” he added.

“I know that if there is any mistake, it falls on me. If the team does not perform well, if there is a selection mistake, or if the coach loses, it will all reflect on me,” he added.
