Fatal crash leaves 2 people dead in northeast Las Vegas valley

Date:

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two people died following a two-vehicle crash in the northeast Las Vegas valley on Saturday.

On Sept. 21, around 4:30 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the report of the two-vehicle crash at the intersection of north Lamb Boulevard and Kell Lane.

According to law enforcement officials, a 2012 GMC Yukon Denali was traveling at a high rate of speed north on Lamb Boulevard when a 2008 Nissan Sentra, which had stopped at a stop sign, attempted to cross. The crash occurred as the GMC struck the driver’s side of the Nissan while it was making a turn.

LVMPD identified the driver of the Nissan as a 67-year-old man from Las Vegas, and his passenger as a 54-year-old man. Police said both were beyond medical intervention and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the GMC, a 16-year-old boy, and his passenger, an 11-year-old boy, were taken to a nearby hospital but were later released, according to the police report.

“The driver and passenger deaths mark the 109th and 110th traffic-related fatalities in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2024,” law enforcement officials said.

This crash is still under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
