‘These are the most difficult games…’ – Adi Hütter praises character of table-topping Monaco

AS Monaco avoided a slip-up as they beat Le Havre AC 3-1 at the Stade Louis II on Sunday, three days after their euphoric UEFA Champions League victory on Thursday.

French teams often struggle to juggle their European commitments whilst juggling their league games, and despite a mixed performance from Les Monégasques, they got the job done against Le Havre and moved joint-top of Ligue 1. “First of all, I am happy for the victory. It is a very important one when you see the results yesterday,” began Adi Hütter in a post-match press conference, attended by Get French Football News. That win came after Paris Saint-Germain dropped points against Stade de Reims on Saturday night.

“I wasn’t happy [with our performance]. It wasn’t our best. But these are the most difficult games (the ones after European games). After a Champions League game, it is always difficult, so it was a great job from the team,” added the Monaco manager.
