IDENTIFIED: Harley rider killed in Fresno County crash named

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno County Coroner has identified a 63-year-old man who died while riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle Sunday morning.

The coroner identified the man as Charles Ramirez, 63, of Fresno. CHP says he died after he drove off the roadway onto the dirt right shoulder in Fresno County Sunday morning.

Motorcyclist killed in crash on Sample Road in Fresno County

CHP says that, around 8:40 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call about an injury collision on Sample Road, west of Pittman Hills Road.

Investigators say Ramirez was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Sample Road, west of Pittman Hills Road.

The motorcyclist went off the roadway onto the dirt right shoulder of Sample Road, where according to CHP he collided with a metal road sign and was ejected onto the dirt shoulder.

Detectives say Ramirez died at the scene. Ramirez was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the crash.

The use of alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.
