BHS tennis falls on the road at Waldron

Sep. 25—The Batesville Bulldogs tennis team traveled to Waldron Tuesday to take on the Mohawks. Waldron picked up the 4-1 win over the Bulldogs in the varsity match.

Batesville’s team point came at No. 3 singles. Batesville’s Carson Meyer knocked off Lincoln Fischer in three sets 6-0, 2-6, 7-5.

At No. 1 singles, Batesville’s Caleb Mohr was defeated by Charlie Fischer 6-2, 6-2. Batesville’s Jevan Smith lost the No. 2 singles match to Jack Fischer 6-2, 6-1.

Batesville’s No. 1 doubles team of Deev Ranka and Lincoln Garrett were defeated by Lucas Shaw and Cash Young 6-4, 6-1. At No. 2 doubles, Batesville’s Wes Peters and Owen Westerfeld lost to Conner Ping and Jackson Kuhn 4-6, 6-2, 10-3.

Waldron won the junior varsity match 2-1.

At No. 1 singles, Batesville’s Will Patterson was defeated by Noah Mitchell 8-3. At No. 2 singles, Batesville’s Blake Hornberger fell to Noah Mitchell 6-3.

In doubles, Batesville’s Max Walter and Eli Doll defeated Ollie Taylor and Max Taylor 8-1.

The Bulldogs move to 8-9 on the season (4-1 EIAC).
