Date:

BILLINGS – Electric City golfers swept the medalist honors for the Eastern AA divisional golf tournament Thursday at Lake Hills Golf Course.

Great Falls High’s Hanna Boyd shot two-over par for the whole tournament to take first on the girls’ side, firing a 73 on both days to take the divisional victory. Boyd finished seven strokes ahead of second place in the win — with Bozeman’s Kira Connell totaling a 153. It was the senior’s fifth tournament victory of the season, winning in Kalispell, Belgrade, Billings and Great Falls previously. Boyd is a two-time All-State golfer for the Bison, finishing sixth the past two seasons.

The sophomore Pinski shot three-under-par on Thursday to close out the 36-hole, two-day tournament with a 69, the only sub-70 round in the meet. Pinski shot 72 on Wednesday in the opening round to finish with a 141, two strokes ahead of second-place Cooper Bourret of Bozeman High.

CMR junior Quincey Weymouth finished 12th to advance to state next week in Kalispell, shooting a 172 over two days.

Bozeman High, Bozeman Gallatin, Billings West and Billings Skyview were the top four boys’ teams, respectively, and will all advance their top five golfers to state, while Gallatin, West, Bozeman and Billings Senior were the top-four squads on the girls’ side.

Senior Eric Bell shot a 163 to finish 18th and advance to the state meet for the Great Falls High boys, as he was in the top 10 of golfers not already on state-qualified teams. Also making their way to state were Ayden Platt and Jackson Hageman for the CMR boys, who tied for 26th with a total of 170.

Danica Lewis joined Weymouth to advance to the state tourney, finishing 18th with a 178, while Callie Criss also moved on as she took 29th with a 201.

The state tournament tees off next week on Thursday at Northern Pines Golf Course in Kalispell.
