SANDUSKY — Richland County golfers put their skills to the test in the Division II sectional boys golf tournament on Thursday at Woussickett Golf Course.
Clear Fork’s Landon Ball earned an individual qualifying spot after posting a 37-37-74, tying Bellevue’s Tyson Baptista and Clyde’s Joshua Swartz for the lowest round of the day. The Colts finished fourth as a team with a 320, one stroke of Vermilion for third place and the final team qualifying spot.
Grant Keep had a nice round with a 40-41-81 while Xander Cyphers had a 39-43-82, Clinton Stallard added a 41-42-83 and Tanner Thorne rounded out the scoring with a 38-46-84.
Shelby finished eighth as a team with a score of 348. Grady Schroeder led the way with a 40-41-81 while Blake West shot a 46-43-89 while Braden Palm added a 44-45-89, Ryan Boggs carded a 48-41-89 and Thomas Lenahan rounded out the scores with a 44-47-91.
Ontario took ninth as a team with a 356. They were led by Mason Turnbaugh’s 41-39-80 while Kolbe Ramion added a 46-42-88, Cameron Bulakovski had a 42-48-90, Raiden Rhinehart carded a 49-49-98 and Colton Blevins rounded out the scores with a 47-53-100.
Ball will compete in the Division II district tournament on Thursday, Oct. 3, at Maumee Bay State Park Golf Course.
