No MS Dhoni! Afghanistan captain surprises with Pakistan keeper as his pick in ODI XI | Cricket News – Times of India

Date:

NEW DELHI: Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi caught everyone off guard with his selection of a wicket-keeper batter for his best ODI XI. While most players would unhesitatingly choose MS Dhoni for this role, Shahidi opted for a different player.
In a recent episode of Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube podcast, Shahidi openly shared his picks for the all-time ODI World XI. Surprisingly, the Afghan cricketer chose to exclude Dhoni from his dream team.
Instead, Shahidi chose Pakistan’s Rashid Latif as the wicketkeeper in his all-time ODI World XI, a selection that left the anchor stunned, prompting him to ask again, “Over MS Dhoni?”

Dhoni, often hailed as one of the most exceptional finishers and wicketkeepers in cricket history, was a notable absence from Shahidi’s lineup, leading to fervent discussions among supporters and pundits.
Shahidi’s dream team is a formidable lineup featuring some of the most iconic players in cricket history. The opening pair consists of the elegant left-hander Saeed Anwar and the modern-day run machine Rohit Sharma.
The middle order is bolstered by the presence of two batting maestros, Virat Kohli and Kumar Sangakkara.
The experienced duo of Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mahela Jayawardene add further depth to the batting lineup, while the versatile Andrew Flintoff provides a valuable all-round option.
The bowling attack is equally impressive, with the spin wizard Rashid Khan complemented by the pace and swing of Waqar Younis and the precision of Jasprit Bumrah.
