Nashville’s Blades Brown featured on PGA Tour’s social media account

Date:

Former Brentwood Academy golf star Blades Brown was featured on the PGA Tour’s X account, formerly Twitter, Saturday morning as Brown spent time with the U.S. President’s Cup team recently.

Brown, a member of the U.S. Junior Presidents Cup Team, was spotlighted in a video along with teammate Will Hartman. Both were among 12 golfers selected for the 2024 squad. Brown and Hartman are also two of 18 men and women selected to the USGA’s first U.S. National Junior Team, part of the U.S. National Development Program.

Brown, 17, made his PGA Tour debut last May and won three straight TSSAA Division II-AA golf individual state championships at Brentwood Academy. He helped lead the Eagles to the 2023 team state title.

The high school junior was the co-medalist at the 2023 U.S. Amateur at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver after tying the course record with an 8-under, 64. He became the youngest medalist (at 16) in U.S. Amateur history, breaking a 103-year-old record set by Bobby Jones. Brown finished first in the U.S. Junior Amateur golf stroke play at Oakland Hills Country Club in Detroit in July, joining Tiger Woods and Bobby Clampett as the only players to secure medalist honors in both a U.S. Junior Amateur and U.S. Amateur event.

Brown is currently ranked No. 1 by the American Junior Golf Association. He left Brentwood Academy and is taking online courses as he manages his growing career.
