The moon is in Virgo for most of the day before entering Libra in the early evening. During the morning and afternoon, devote your attention to tangible tasks: Tidy up your living space, do a favor for a friend, run the errands you’ve been putting off. Once the moon enters Libra, give yourself a break. Spend time with people you care about and remember that life’s about more than just working all the time.

Often, the best results come from following your instincts even if that means you have to deviate from your existing plan. But just because spontaneity has worked for you in the past doesn’t mean it’s always the best way to go. You might feel bored and ready for something new, but even so, this probably isn’t the best day to change course. Plans need time to come to fruition. If you abandon yours too soon, you’ll never know what might have been.

Most of the time, other people’s attention probably isn’t especially motivating for you. While it’s nice to be recognized, it’s not the end goal for you. Today, though, feeling overlooked could be practically unbearable. You’re hungry for confirmation that you aren’t invisible, that you matter to the people in your life. So be honest — with yourself and your friends — about what you need. Better to come across as a little demanding than to stifle your feelings now and end up lashing out later.

Today, it’s easy to feel guilty that you’re not doing more to solve all the world’s problems, that you’re going about your daily life while unimaginable suffering happens seemingly everywhere you look. But you’re only one person; what else can you do? If you can only help with matters close to home, then do that. If you can only care for one person, then care for them well. Maybe later you can take grander, more dramatic action, but if you do what you can for now, it’s enough.

It’s important today that you give your restless mind enough to do. You’re smart and curious, and you need problems to solve and questions to muse over. Busywork isn’t enough: You need an occasion to rise to, a project that will genuinely challenge you. In the absence of enough to do, you’ll end up overthinking your life, your decisions, and, most of all, your relationships, and you’ll find problems where there are none.

You’re probably not someone to be satisfied with a life that’s small or ordinary. You want a life that’s special. But you have to be careful not to let anyone else define special for you. If your goal is to live in a way that impresses the people around you, you’ll never feel like you’ve achieved it. Even the most beautiful life won’t seem like enough to you, because someone else will always have more. Check in with yourself today and make sure you’re working toward what you want.

You might feel oddly exposed today, as though everyone can see through you. You worry that they’re all judging you, finding flaws that even you aren’t aware you have. But while it’s useful, at least to a certain point, to take others’ criticisms onboard, you shouldn’t have to feel like your worth as a human being is up for discussion. In any case, people certainly aren’t thinking of you as deeply or as harshly as you fear.

Everyone feels insecure and out of place sometimes, regardless of how smart or accomplished they are. Today, a bit of insecurity is likely to pop up, and your challenge isn’t to avoid feeling it at all but simply not to let it get the better of you. Don’t make important choices from a place of fear or withdraw from relationships because you imagine you’re not worthy. You deserve a wonderful life, so stop trying to convince yourself otherwise.

You could be highly attuned to the moods of the people around you today — not just those you know well, but practically anyone you come in contact with. Their smallest gestures reveal so much; it would be hard not to develop a clear picture of their inner state. With so much going on, other people’s emotions may start to color yours. It’s only natural — just be careful not to let your sensitivity to others’ moods get in the way of understanding what you genuinely want, how you’re feeling.

You’re not afraid of conflict: If someone repeatedly takes you for granted, you’ll speak up. If someone disrespects you, you’ll push back. But while you’re not scared of confrontation, you probably also don’t relish it, so when you have a problem you usually try other, more conciliatory methods first. But today, remember that you don’t have to remain accommodating until you reach a breaking point. If someone is treating you poorly, let them know right away that you won’t tolerate it.

Others might look at your career or relationships or confidence and think it came easily, but you’ve worked hard for everything you have. It’s taken serious effort to get to where you are now. Yet in spite of that, there are times when you feel trapped by it all, when everything you’ve built feels like simply another burden. So today, it’s important to step outside your routines. Surprise others — better yet, surprise yourself. A little bit of novelty could be enough to refresh your whole mind-set.

Normally you’re good at keeping a cool head in stressful situations. While others might fly off the handle and make decisions they end up regretting, you try not to let your emotions get the better of you (and most of the time, you succeed). Today, though, it might be harder to detach. Minor roadblocks could seem completely insurmountable, small disagreements practically life-ruining. But remember you’re stronger and more capable than you’re giving yourself credit for in this moment — and that you have so much more going for you than you realize.

Some people seem scared of spending time alone, but not you. No matter how many close and loving relationships you have, you still treasure your moments of solitude and know how to enjoy your own company. But if you’re yearning to be around others today, take that seriously. Make plans with a new friend, or call an old one you’ve been missing, or take a walk through the neighborhood just to see who you bump into. Invite other people into your life now, and they’ll inevitably make it more interesting.
