Charles Abouo 1 of 7 Grad Assistants on BYU Basketball Staff

BYU Basketball has increased their hoops investment this season. In addition to more funds for coaches’ salary, additional positions BYU has include one additional assistant, Chief of Staff (Doug Stewart), Director of Player Development (Jordan Brady), and 7 total graduate assistants; BYU had 4 GA’s last season.

Below are the 7 grad assistants, which includes 3 former D1 players. I’ve linked Twitter (X) accounts for those that have it.

Charles Abouo

The former BYU great has finished his decade plus playing career overseas and is back at BYU. Abouo played at BYU for four seasons, from 2008-2012.

Kyle Sturdivant

Sturdivant played 5 seasons at college ball and finished his last season at Georgia Tech this past season. He played his freshmen year at USC before going back home to Atlanta and playing the last 4 seasons at Georgia Tech. The 6-foot-3 guard finished fourth last season in ACC Sixth Man of the Year voting.

Nik Mains

The 6-foot-8 forward played at Northern Arizona for 5 seasons from 2018-2023. Mains averaged 8 ppg and shot 38% from three in 5 seasons.

Andy Wessman

Andy recently graduated from DePauw University. He’s had roles as a Basketball Operations Associate at ProMondo Sports and Student Director of Basketball Operations and Student Assistant Coach for Men’s Basketball at DePauw. His focus area is player personnel and recruiting.

Dhruv Mehrotra

Dhruv played college hoops at Haverford College, a D3 school in Pennsylvania. One of his focus areas is player analytics.

Jordan Woodson

Jordan is the one GA that was with the the team last year and was the first GA brought in by Kevin Young. Jordan has been with BYU basketball since 2021, all as a team manager. His focus is in scouting and recruiting.

Clement Racaud

Racaud is French and comes directly from the Paris Basketball staff, a professional club. He has a background in data analytics and video analysis.
