Elite 2025 center considering Michigan basketball announces commitment date

Date:

Dusty May has been on a tear since he joined Michigan basketball earlier this year, not only reshaping the roster but suddenly garnering the attention of some of the nation’s top recruits.

Among them is 2025 Las Vegas (Nev.) Sierra Vista four-star center Xavion Staton.

Ranked the No. 23 player in the country according to 247Sports, along with being the second-best center in the class, Staton has his choice of suitors. He has narrowed his list down to four — Michigan, UNLV, BYU, and Stanford. And he will choose his destination of choice in one month — on Nov. 4 — according to On3 resident basketball insider Joe Tipton.

The Wolverines being the one school not in the same geographic region he’s from does indicate just how good of a job May has done to this point.

There are no favorites according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball but the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently gives UNLV the edge — though that’s due to proximity as no analysts have weighed in with a prediction just yet.
