Four national television dates await the Providence women’s basketball team over the final month of its Big East season, including back-to-back contests prior to the conference tournament in March.
The Friars will appear three times on FS1 and once on the CBS Sports Network. That last occasion carries twice the spotlight — a meeting with perennial power Connecticut off campus at Amica Mutual Pavilion.

The Huskies visit for a noon tip Feb. 9, the 11-time national champions led by star guard Paige Bueckers. It’s the first game downtown for Providence since a 2009-10 matchup with West Virginia, and that came in the midst of a 19-15 season that ended with a run to the WNIT quarterfinals. The Friars played in that same tournament in March, a cap to coach Erin Batth’s debut season on the sidelines.
That’s the second matchup of the season between the two teams. The first comes Dec. 29 at 1:30 p.m at XL Center, a Hartford afternoon that will be shown by Connecticut flagship SNY. Providence lost three games to the Huskies last year, including in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament at Mohegan Sun.
The Friars play three other games on FS1, starting with a Feb. 2 date at Creighton. Providence will host Villanova for a noon tip on Feb. 23 at Alumni Hall and visit Georgetown for another noon tip on March 1. That game with the Hoyas leads into the league tournament, which is set to start March 7.
Seven different outlets will carry Friars games in 2024-25, including two primary partners — FloSports and the Big East Digital Network. They’ll collaborate on 13 of Providence’s 18 league games, including the Dec. 21 opener at Seton Hall. FloSports will show nine nonconference games — the Nov. 4 home opener against Mercy University, all three November games at the Cancun Challenge and a Dec. 7 city matchup with Brown primary among them.

Providence will play four other games under the ESPN umbrella, including the annual Dec. 4 rivalry matchup at the University of Rhode Island. That 6:30 p.m. tip at the Ryan Center will be streamed on ESPN+ along with road games against Vermont and Dayton. Those contests with the Catamounts and Flyers sandwich a Nov. 17 trip to Boston College, a game that will be shown on ACCNX.
The Friars closed 13-21 in 2023-24, including 6-12 in conference play. Providence will feature a combined 10 graduate students and seniors this year, including key returners Grace Efosa, Nariah Scott, Marta Morales Romero, Brynn Farrell, Olivia Olsen and Emily Archibald. Kylee Sheppard also is expected to be ready for the opener after missing the majority of last season due to a concussion.
