Kentucky Basketball appears to have a new walk-on

Date:

A little over a month ago, the Kentucky Wildcats held a men’s basketball tryout for students interested in walking on to the team.

Many students were expected to try out for the team in hopes of making the roster as a walk-on.

Some of the football players were even willing to try out to make the basketball team.

Nevertheless, the tryout came and went, but nobody heard any news if someone had made the team as a walk-on until Monday night when Kentucky had its pro day for the 2024-25 season. Many fans were excited to see what the new roster and team would look like, but they weren’t expecting to see an unfamiliar face on the team.

Now, introducing No. 20 to the Kentucky men’s basketball team is Zachary Tow, who is a junior from Madisonville, Kentucky.

The 6-foot-5 Tow played at North Hopkins and graduated in 2022, so he’s seemingly been out of major basketball for two years. He earned First-Team All-Region honors in his senior season

Obviously, it isn’t confirmed yet that Tow made the basketball team through the open tryout, but it is nice to see a new face on the team that nobody had heard about until Monday night at pro day.
