Serie A: Top 10 Italy players Week 1-7: Juventus defender go top

Juventus defender Federico Gatti has the highest average player rating for Italian footballers with at least 50% of Serie A appearances this season, followed by Mateo Retegui and Federico Dimarco.

With injured Inter star Nicolò Barella dropped out of the top 10, having played less than 50% of the minutes available in Serie A this season, Gatti is the best-performing Italian player in Serie A from the opening seven rounds.

As reported by Fantacalcio, the 26-year-old’s average player rating from Italian sports papers is 6.6. Barella has higher ratings at 6.75, but, as mentioned, he hasn’t played enough minutes to be featured in the ranking.

Gatti is followed by Atalanta star Mateo Retegui, the joint-Serie A top scorer alongside Inter’s Marus Thuram, and Federico Dimarco, scorer of one goal in seven league appearances with the defending champions.

Gatti, Retegui, and Dimarco also made the top-10 Serie A performers in the opening seven rounds of the season, once again topped by Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
