Westmont Hilltop senior Caden Miller wins LHAC boys golf title

EBENSBURG, Pa. – Westmont Hilltop senior Caden Miller prevailed on the second playoff hole Monday to earn the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference boys golf title at Ebensburg Country Club.

Miller and Hollidaysburg’s Isaac Miller and Brody Partner-Gore all shot 75 to force a playoff.

Caden Miller, who finished second at the District 6 Class 2A championships Wednesday to earn his second trip to the PIAA tournament, earned gold on the par-71 course. He finished tied for 10th place in the 2023 LHAC event.

The top 10 medaled. Bald Eagle Area’s Kane Wolf (77), Westmont Hilltop’s Colby Carlson (78) and James Webb (79) finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Bedford’s Josh Topper (80), Central Cambria’s Austin Semelsberger (80) and Somerset’s Kai Petrosky (80) each tied for seventh. Clearfield’s Luke Dixon (881) was 10th.

Richland’s Trent Salem (82) tied for 11th.

Monday’s event started Sept. 18 and was postponed.
