L-L championships recap

The 2024 Lancaster-Lebanon championships saw lots of talented golf being played, and a few Lebanon County teams led the way. As the competition began at Meadia Heights Golf Club in Lancaster, there was rainfall on the green — so making the par of 71 would be even more difficult with just 25 spots to qualify for District 3 playoffs.

Before action, a pair of squads came in riding successful seasons as Cedar Crest finished the Section 1 champion while Annville-Cleona was the runner up in Section 4. Along with those groups, Lebanon, ELCO and Northern Lebanon saw participants competing to contend for district playoffs next up.

Following the 18 holes, each finished below par as only seven of 22 would advance to the District 3 postseason. Below are the full results from the tournament from Lebanon County teams and individual golfers, and the placings of each who qualified for the next tournament.

Mid-Penn championships recap

The Mid-Penn championship tournament took place a few weeks later than the L-L tournament, and saw a pair of Lebanon County golfers in action.

After successful seasons with the Cougars, Ajay Horowitz and Alex Irwin took the course for Mid-Penn competition at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course. Neither golfer would qualify for districts, as Horowitz and Irwin both shot far over the 72-par standard. With that, the sophomore pairing’s season came to an end in individual play.

District 3 championships

The second stretch of postseason play is set to be at Honey Run Golf Course in York County — and here’s the upcoming slate for the District 3 competition.
