Inzaghi speaks to Prosecutor over Inter ultras investigation

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi was interviewed by Prosecutors today as part of the wide-ranging investigation into Nerazzurri and Milan ultras.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the coach had his meeting with the authorities today and was treated as a witness with valuable information, so he himself is not under investigation.

This was because of a wiretap that showed arrested Nerazzurri ultras Curva Nord leader Marco Ferdico had called Inzaghi asking to get an extra 200 tickets for the 2023 Champions League Final against Manchester City.

Ferdico was one of 19 ultras arrested in the anti-mafia operation last month.

Sky Sport Italia and news agency Ansa report that Inzaghi answered all the questions posed to him, in a meeting that was described as ‘long, relaxed and exhaustive.’

The coach assured that Ferdico’s call was more of a ‘request than a threat’ and was not unusual.

His motivation was to avoid the Curva going on strike again, as there had been previous protests.

Among those expected to speak to Prosecutors over the next few weeks are Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti, Milan captain Davide Calabria and Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
