Manchester City’s Farid Alfa-Ruprecht named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for September

Manchester City’s rising youth talent Farid Alfa-Ruprecht has been named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for September.

The 18-year-old is regarded within the game as one of the very best up and coming talents and known to be a tricky, creative winger who will no doubt be looking to create a successful career for himself at Manchester City.

Having signed for the club from German side Hamburg in 2022, the youngster has become a key part of Ben Wilkinson’s current Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League sides for the ongoing season, and his talents are now being recognised through individual accolades.

Across the month of September alone, Farid Alfa-Ruprecht recorded a remarkable four goals and an assist to his name, with goal contributions coming in all three of his Premier League 2 outings in the month.

Perhaps the most notable of the three performances will have been the Manchester derby showing against city rivals United, when Alfa-Ruprecht offered both a goal and an assist in a 1-3 away win for the club’s Elite Development Squad.

In claiming the award for September, Farid Alfa-Ruprecht has defeated competition from fellow Manchester City Elite Development Squad teammate, Jacob Wright alongside six other nominees.

Alfa-Ruprecht and Manchester City’s Elite Development Squad have three matches across three different competitions throughout the month of October, starting with a home UEFA Youth League meeting against Sparta Prague.

Premier League 2 action then returns with a trip to West Bromwich Albion, before an away tie in North-East Lincolnshire against Grimsby Town in the EFL Trophy will round off the month.
