Skies over St Petersburg turned purple on Wednesday, October 9, as Hurricane Milton hit the Florida coast.

Footage recorded by Anne Marie Gell shows a bright purple sky.

The phenomenon was observed as far away as Marathon in the Florida Keys and Miami,.
