GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — If you take a look outside Thursday, the moon is going to be pretty hard to miss as it will be the November Supermoon, otherwise known as a “Hunter’s Moon.”
Krispy Kreme is marking the occasion with a new signature donut called the “Supermoon-Super Doughnut.” But, not every full moon we see is a Supermoon.
“What we’re going to be seeing is is what we call a super hunter’s moon,” WNCT Meteorologist Christopher Tyndall said. “And what that means is a Supermoon, plus the full moon. So, this full moon, this time of year, is typically called the Hunter’s Moon, simply by tradition.”
There will be one more Supermoon, the largest of the year on Nov. 15.
