Michigan basketball head coach Dusty May has landed the program’s first commit in the 2025 class.

Winters Grady, a 6-foot-6, 185-pound small forward from Prolific Prep pledged to the Wolverines on Friday afternoon, just hours before May and company were schedule to host their annual media day.

The Lake Oswego, Oregon, native who now lives in Napa, California, is a four-star prospect according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings, rated as the No. 8 player in California, No. 15 small forward in the class and No. 83 overall player in his class.

“Grady thrives in the mid-range area. He loves to score over top of contesting defenders from about 12-18 feet with some lift into a high release,” wrote 247 Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein. “He can create space off the dribble for those shots, go into the mid-post, or occasionally run off screens, but tends to play a little upright and doesn’t put a ton of pressure on the rim.

After landing with the Wolverines in the offseason, May has been busy brining in talent, but had yet to land a commitment in the 2025 class. Shortly after arriving in Ann Arbor, May landed transfer commits from center Danny Wolf (Yale), guard Tre Donaldson (Auburn), guard Roddy Gayle Jr. (Ohio State), guard Rubin Jones (North Texas), forward Sam Walters (Alabama) and center Vladislav Goldin (Florida Atlantic).

In total, there are 11 newcomers on Michigan’s basketball roster this year. U-M unofficially kicks off its 2024-25 season with a charity exhibition game Sunday (5 p.m, Big Ten Network) against Oakland at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
