IU women’s basketball lands first 2026 commitment

Date:

Indiana women’s basketball has landed a commitment from class of 2026 guard Ashlinn James. She announced her decision on Instagram on Monday.

The 5-foot-9 Louisville native is the first class of 2026 player to commit to Teri Moren’s program. The Hoosiers offered James a scholarship after she attended Hoosier Hysteria in 2023, and she took an unofficial visit to Bloomington in late August. She held other offers from Western Kentucky, North Carolina A&T, Murray State, and Bellarmine.

James recently joined the West Virginia Thunder AAU program, which is the same program that 2025 IU commit Maya Makalusky has also played for.
