Bayern Munich players take part in special training session on the morning of Barcelona clash

Barcelona are set for a grand showdown later this evening as they take on Bayern Munich in the league stage of the UEFA Champions League.

The Catalans will look to overcome the ghost of the past and put an end to their curse against Bayern, this time under the leadership of Hansi Flick, who had once masterminded Bayern’s infamous 8-2 victory.

While Bayern are perhaps not as strong as they were back in 2020, they are still a daunting opponent for Barcelona.

Bayern’s curious training session

To that end, Bayern Munich have already shown tremendous enthusiasm by conducting a special training session ahead of the Barcelona game.

As reported by SPORT, the Bavarians arrived in Barcelona yesterday for the all-important UCL showdown. They are currently stationed at the Sofitel Barcelona Skipper Hotel, which is located on the promenade.

Earlier in the day, Bayern Munich posted a video of the players training on the roof of the hotel, enjoying the warm climate of the Mediterranean.

The training consisted of an activation session, in which the players did normal stretching and bike exercises. Their star player Michael Olise was also seen doing head exercises.

The atmosphere in the Bayern training camp looked quite energetic and relaxed, which suggests the Bavarians have prepared well and are ready to take on Barcelona tonight.

As for Barça themselves, it will be a test of resolve. The majority of their players have done extremely well this season, but how well they come together as a team may go a long way in dictating the outcome of this clash.

Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste is certainly optimistic about his team’s chances against Bayern. But whether or not that confidence will translate on the pitch remains to be seen.
