He has been left out because he decided to miss the last tour and continued playing for St. Lucia Kings in the CPL 2024
Aaron Jones has been left out of the USA’s squad for the World Cup League 2 (WCL-2) tri-series, also involving Nepal and Scotland.
The series will get underway on October 25 (Friday) and all the ODIs will be played at Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston.
The selectors have named an unchanged squad that toured Namibia for WCL-2 in September.
According to a report in Cricbuzz, Jones has been left out because he decided to miss the aforementioned tour and continued playing for St. Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League 2024. Jones played there as a local player and didn’t need an ‘NOC’ from USA Cricket.
Despite Jones’s absence, the USA won all their four games in Namibia. The 30-year-old did feature in the three T20Is against Nepal but could only manage scores of 3, 7 and 13. Now there’s a chance that the former USA vice-captain might lose his T20I spot as well.
USA Squad: Monank Patel (captain), Smit Patel, Sai Teja Mukkamalla, Milind Kumar, Shayan Jahangir, Andries Gous, Harmeet Singh, Nosthush Kenjige, Saurabh Netravalkar, Juanoy Drysdale, Utkarsh Srivastava, Jasdeep Singh, Shadley Van Schalkwyk, Yasir Mohammad, Sushant Modani
