Manchester United and Fenerbahce played out a 1-1 stalemate in their Europa League clash in Turkey.
Christian Eriksen put United ahead with a fantastic first-time shot to finish a good team goal.
A big error from Victor Lindelof made it easier for Youssef En-Nesyri to bring parity to the scoreline right after the break.
Speaking on TNT Sports after the game, Andre Onana revealed that United are ‘angry’ after dropping two points.
He said: “It’s very disappointing for me, for the club. We have an obligation to win at Manchester United, which we didn’t do.
“We also have to recognise that this is a tough place to win. Not happy, of course, but we take our responsibilities and move on.
“We had more control than them. After an early goal in the second half, we had to show character and that is what we did.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t win but I think we were better than them.
“It doesn’t matter (on his double save). The important thing is to win. Today, we are going back angry because we came here to win.”
Onana made a terrific double save in the first half to keep United in the lead and earned 8/10 in post-match player ratings.
He made a superb stop by diving low to his right to deny En-Nesyri. He quickly got back to his feet to tip another header away from the striker.
It was a crucial moment in the game as Fenerbahce were looking dangerous in the attack.
A goal in the 37th minute would have allowed the hosts to go at half-time with much more confidence.
Onana also showcased his impressive ability to distribute the ball with short passes, facilitating United’s play from the back. However, his long balls fell short of that same quality and precision this evening.
