Inner-city cricket club founded almost 120 years ago can install new nets

Date:

Bowling Old Lane Cricket Club had applied to build two cricket net facilities on an unused area at its club grounds off Birch Lane.

In the application, the club said the new facilities would “help our club deliver more coaching and development at a clubmark organisation”.

The nets will be installed by Total Play – the company behind the installation of the cricket nets at Bradford Park Avenue’s ‘Dome.’

The application has now been approved by Bradford Council.

Planning officers said: “The proposed positioning of the nets and artificial turf is within the grounds of an existing established cricket club on a currently unused bit of land.

“It will not affect the quantity and quality of the existing cricket playing pitch.”
