EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool set to SIGN former Dortmund and Bayern transfer guru

Liverpool are close to appointing a former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund man in a key role.

The club has confirmed the departure of the Reds’ director of scouting and recruitment, Dave Fallows, after 12 years of service at Anfield.

This comes after a major reshuffling behind the scenes in the boardroom this summer with Michael Edwards returning as FSG’s head of football operations and Richard Hughes appointed as the club’s sporting director.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool sporting director, Julian Ward, has also returned to the club in a new role working under FSG.

Fallows though is on his way out after a spectacular decade-long tenure at the club. He played a key role in Liverpool’s success under FSG, helping to identify some of the most important players in Jurgen Klopp’s tenure.

It’s no surprise Hughes paid a fitting tribute to Fallows after the club confirmed his departure. But as one key staff is set to leave another is on the verge of being appointed at Liverpool.

Anfield Watch understands Liverpool have already identified a potential replacement for Fallows in former Bayern Munich chief scout, Markus Pilawa.
