Tennessee basketball returns this afternoon for their first public scrimmage ahead of the 2024-25 season. The Volunteers will welcome in the Indiana Hoosiers to unofficially tip-off the season at Food City Center.
The Hoosiers were ranked 17th in the first AP Poll. Tennessee checked in at No. 12.
Today will serve as our first look at the revamped roster, which features four big pulls out of the transfer portal. Zakai Zeigler is still steering the ship, but Tennessee will lean on new faces like Darlinstone Dubar, Igor Milicic, Felix Okpara and Chaz Lanier. It will be interesting to see how Rick Barnes puts these new pieces together, while weaving in guys like Jahmai Mashack, Jordan Gainey, Cameron Carr, JP Estrella and Cade Phillips.
Tennessee will officially open the season a week from Monday — October 4th — with a game against Gardner Webb.
