Canucks Gameday Preview #8: Vancouver Puts Their Four-Game Win Streak On The Line Against The Carolina Hurricanes.

Date:

After extending their win streak to four games on Saturday, the Vancouver Canucks (4-1-2) welcome the Carolina Hurricanes (5-2-0) to town Monday night. Both teams are currently on win streaks, with Carolina having won their last four games. Currently on a three-game win streak against the Hurricanes, the Canucks will be looking to pick up win number five on the season while improving their record to .500 at home in 2024-25.

This game has the potential to be a low-scoring affair, as the two teams sit fourth and sixth in goals against per game this season. That being said, both teams have scored at least four goals in each of their last two games, meaning that we could be in store for a close contest. Look for special teams to play a massive factor, as whichever team wins that battle could walk away with two points.

Players To Watch:

Filip Hronek:

Despite his low production, Hronek has been a key contributor to the Canucks early season success. He is averaging 23:41 of ice time and sits third on the team in hits with 17. If Hronek can get a few slapshots on net, he could be leaving Monday’s contest with his first goal of 2024-25.

Brent Burns:

At 39-years-old, Brent Burns remains a threat on the blue line. Age hasn’t slowed Burns down, as he is averaging 21:10 of ice time and sits second on the team in blocked shots with 11. Also looking for his first goal of the season, Vancouver should not underestimate Burns, as it is clear that he still has some juice left in the tank.

Vancouver Canucks Projected Lineup:
