Jamie Murray collected the 33rd title of his career, winning the Swiss Indoors doubles final with John Peers.

The 38-year-old Scot and his Australian partner came through two rounds of qualifying in Basel and ended the week with a 6-3 7-5 victory against top seeds Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic.

It was Murray’s second tournament success of the season and his first with Peers – with whom he reached Wimbledon and US Open finals – since 2015.

The duo, who have now won seven titles together since first joining up in 2013, got through five successive match tiebreaks on their way to the final.

“It was a crazy week for us,” Murray said. “We managed to battle through.

“We’re super excited to win and have a strong finish to what has been a tough year.”
