Samis Calderon set to officially visit Kentucky Basketball

Date:

With the fall signing period arriving soon, Mark Pope and Co. have been working tirelessly to assemble what could be a top-five recruiting class for the Kentucky Wildcats.

By now, you know the names in the class of 2025, including Acaden Lewis and Caleb Wilson, among others. However, it’s been a while since we heard of a new name Kentucky was pursuing in 2025.

Well, that just changed, as KSR’s Jacob Polacheck reports that 4-star forward Samis Calderon will take an official visit to Kentucky sometime in November, though no official date has been set yet.

A 6-foot-8, 200-pound product of Overtime Elite, Calderon is ranked 35th among small forwards and 15th in the state of Georgia for the 2025 class via 247 Sports. The native of Brazil does not have an evaluation at Rivals, On3, or ESPN.

Despite the limited recruiting background, Calderon does hold scholarship offers from the Auburn Tigers, Kansas Jayhawks, Michigan Wolverines, and Tennessee Volunteers. He’s officially visited Michigan, Auburn, and Tennessee, while a trip to Kansas is on deck this weekend.

Kentucky has had a bit of a pipeline with Overtime Elite recently, landing Rob Dillingham and Jordan Burks in the 2023 class and Jasper Johnson in 2025 while also recruiting Tay Kinney and Adam Oummidoch in the 2026 class. Perhaps Calderon could keep that going in the upcoming class.

While Calderon has not publicly announced a scholarship offer, his official visit to Kentucky suggests that one could be coming soon enough, perhaps when he makes his way to Lexington.

For now, check out some highlights of Calderon in action below.
