Iowa women’s basketball unveils 2024-25 pregame intro video

Date:

With tonight’s exhibition matchup vs. Missouri Western opening the 2024-25 Iowa women’s basketball campaign, the program unveiled its new pregame intro video highlighting the Hawkeyes’ Big Ten tournament three-peat and last season’s national championship game run.

The video begins with clips of confetti falling from the Target Center rafters and the Hawkeyes’ Big Ten title ring. This blends seamlessly into various promo shots of each team member with highlights from critical moments in Iowa’s 2024 NCAA Tournament run.

With Iowa under new leadership following the retirement of Lisa Bluder, head coach Jan Jensen plans to have the Hawkeyes primed to make a run at not only claiming a fourth-consecutive Big Ten Tournament title but the program’s first national title victory.

While the Hawkeyes come into the season with a target on their back, they will be against tougher competition as USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington join the conference.

Iowa was listed in a tie for sixth place with Maryland in USA TODAY Sports’ Big Ten preseason poll behind USC, UCLA, Ohio State, Nebraska, and Indiana.

With tonight’s exhibition from Carver-Hawkeye Arena against the Griffins of Missouri Western, fans will be able to get a taste of what’s to come from the Hawkeyes this season.

The projected starters for Iowa are transfer guard Lucy Olsen, junior guard Taylor McCabe, redshirt senior guard Kylie Feuerbach, junior forward Hannah Stuelke, and senior center Addison O’Grady.

The game tonight will be broadcast on BTN+ with a scheduled 6:30 p.m. CT start.

Iowa’s regular season and home opener will occur on Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. CT versus the Northern Illinois Huskies. That contest will also be streamed on BTN+.
