The recruiting rankings showed it when this group signed, but Iowa has a freshman class to be excited about.

Freshman guard Teagan Mallegni was making plays all night. Mallegni matched Stuelke with a game-high 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting, including a 4-of-9 performance from beyond the arc. The McFarland, Wis., product added three rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.

Freshman guard Taylor Stremlow was Iowa’s leading rebounder with nine boards and she also tallied six points, two assists, one steal and one block.

It’s easy to see what the coaching staff likes about Heiden, too. As Heiden continues to mature, her natural athleticism will make her a terrific offensive and defensive player inside for the Hawkeyes. The frosh finished 4-of-8 from the floor with 10 points and four rebounds.
