Communicative Mercury and dreamy Neptune play off each other in a beautiful way today, activating your intuition and your imagination. Share your ideas — even the complicated or esoteric ones — with others; they’re likely to be receptive. And, for better or for worse, your first impressions about new people will probably be accurate now, so pay attention.

You’re probably not someone to put too much stock in “vibes.” It’s all too easy to get the wrong idea about people that way — to be put off by someone who’s grouchy on the surface or seduced by somebody charming but unkind. You’d rather pay attention to what others actually do. Today, though, you might get a strong impression you can’t explain, one not based on anything objective. Don’t ignore it — there’s almost definitely something to it.

You work hard to treat others well, but sometimes you start to wonder why you bother. Nobody else seems to appreciate how much effort you put in, and even though you try to be kind for kindness’s own sake, a little reciprocation every once in a while would be nice. But don’t let anyone convince you that you should abandon your ideals, that you’d be better off becoming callous and selfish. Right now being kind to others will only benefit you. Your generosity isn’t always rewarded, but today, it will be.

Sometimes, you make life more difficult than it needs to be. Given a choice, you tend to pick the complicated plan over the simple one, to opt for the path of most resistance. This way, at least, you know that you’re not being lazy. Just remember, today, that there are times when the simplest answer actually is the correct one. You’ll face struggle no matter what you do, so don’t add to your own load unnecessarily.

Lately, it feels like everyone keeps telling you to slow down, be patient, stop rushing through life. If you want good things, you have to be willing to wait. But while that’s true to an extent, it’s also possible to let patience turn into inaction. Today, try to find a balance. Sure, some of your dreams will come to fruition slowly over time — but there are steps you can take right now to make your life more beautiful: not tomorrow or in some distant future, but now.

If you could just make everybody listen to you, you sometimes think, half the world’s problems would be solved. Your advice is so astute, and your understanding of people is so sharp; if they would just follow your directions, they’d all be happier. But you can’t force people to do things your way, even when your way is objectively better. So today, try taking a softer approach. The more you open your mind to alternative viewpoints, the more others will finally be willing to listen to yours.

Normally, nothing gets past you. You’re detail-oriented enough to catch small mistakes before they cause bigger problems, and you’re sharp enough to notice when someone’s not telling the truth, or when their words and their actions don’t line up. Today, though, you might find yourself missing tiny clues you’d usually pick up on. It isn’t that you’re losing your edge, only that your mind is focused on the bigger picture right now. You may have to rely on others to pick up your slack this time so that you can be free to dream.

As much as you try to notice all the beauty in everyday life, it’s been harder than usual lately. The ugliness and cruelty feel overpowering; so many people seem hell-bent on making the world worse. But today, you might get an infusion of optimism from an unexpected source. You’ll discover that there are other people just like you who want to make the world better. And if you struggle to find beauty, then you can join with the people around you to create it yourselves.

The more intense your emotions, the more you do your best to hide them from others. You worry there’s something shameful about feeling so much. But carrying everything by yourself only makes the load heavier and the task lonelier. Today, it might help to open up to someone you trust. When you share your deepest or weirdest feelings, you’ll be surprised to learn that others have felt the same way all along.

Honesty is important to you, so you do your best to communicate directly — and you count on your friends to do the same. But sometimes, as much as people want to express themselves openly, they struggle. Maybe they’re ashamed of their emotions; maybe they hardly understand their emotions themselves. So today, listen to what people say — but pay attention to the things that go unspoken, too. If you look for what’s going on beneath the surface, you’ll understand people better and be better equipped to love them.

You’ve been thinking more than ever about your future lately. What do you want to accomplish? Where would you like to live? What kind of person do you hope to be? But it can be overwhelming to try to strategize around your own life in a world so unpredictable. So today, think bigger. What kind of world do you want to live in? What kind of existence do you want to share with others? Working together with the people around you is harder than working to achieve on your own, but it’ll be more rewarding, too.

You sometimes feel like the more authentic you are, the less other people understand you. The choices seem to be either changing yourself to fit in or resigning yourself to being misjudged and underestimated. But the truth is that you have more options than that. Today, especially, if you focus on living your values, other people will get it. For now, don’t worry about how you’re perceived by anybody else; just have faith that it’ll work out.

You tend to have a strong intuition, and you don’t need to ask too many questions — when you know, you just know. But while your intuition can tell whether you like someone, or that a situation is somehow off, it doesn’t always tell you what you should actually do about it. Today, though, it might be easier to figure out your path forward. Don’t think too hard about it: You probably already know what you need to do, so take the plunge.
