Stephanie White has been named the Indiana Fever coach for the second time, joining a team that made the WNBA playoffs in 2024 for the first since in eight years.
White, 47, is an Indiana basketball hero, earning the highest individual honor in high school basketball, winning a national championship in college and playing for her home state team in the pros.
White played for the Fever from 2000-04, was an assistant coach for the 2012 WNBA championship squad and was Indiana’s head coach in 2015-16.

After being drafted in the second round of the 1999 WNBA Draft, White played one season for the Charlotte Sting, averaging 5.3 points per game. That franchise, which had become the Miami Sol, traded her to the Indiana Fever.
White played four seasons in Indiana from 2000-04, averaging 6.1 points. She missed the 2002 season due to injury.
She joined the Fever coaching staff in 2011, helping them win the 2012 WNBA championship. White took over as head coach from Lin Dunn in 2015 and led two playoff teams before taking the coaching job at Vanderbilt.
