Mustang Robbers Terrorize Memphis Man

It used to be Ford Mustangs were used to ruin car meets with poorly-executed burnouts resulting in pedestrians being mowed down and/or a pole being hit head-on. But now criminals are using them to rob people at gunpoint, we guess because there’s a shortage of Hellcats after so many have been stolen and crashed.

Watch a trooper PIT a fleeing motorcycle.

Call it a brave new world or criminals adapting to product availability, a group of three crooks were captured on surveillance footage using a white S550 Mustang to pull up on a guy in a parking lot, holding him at gunpoint and taking his stuff. We suppose it could’ve been worse; they could’ve ran the Mustang into his house.

This went down just after midnight on October 15, proving yet again that staying out late at night just increases your risk of falling victim to this sort of thing. In the footage, you can see one guy has a rifle and another has a handgun.

The guy with the rival keeps flagging his buddy with the handgun, showing these robbers haven’t been properly trained in firearm handling – not a shock. You see the guy with the handgun jump through an open vehicle window, then slide out we guess after he obtained the stolen goods.

This makes us think the victim was sitting in his car. Despite what so many people think, sitting in your vehicle in a parking lot, especially with the engine shut off, makes you an easier target then if you’re walking or even standing in a parking lot. And doing that late at night is even more dangerous.

We’re sure this Ford Mustang is stolen and probably was ditched not too long after. But this is a warning to the Mustang owners that thieves want your ride. They did before, but the Hellcats distracted them. That appears to be coming to a close, so watch out.
