BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A fire that occurred overnight Sunday caused an estimated $1,500,000 in damage to a commercial storage building in Buffalo, city officials announced.

Fire crews responded to the fire just after 3 a.m. at 710 Ohio St. According to authorities, the large fire caused significant damage to the structure and was confined within the building, which led to a structural collapse.

Officials said an estimated $1,000,000 in damage was done to the structure and $500,000 in damage was done to its contents. The cause of the fire remains undetermined and it is currently under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Two additional fires occurred early Sunday morning, causing a combined estimated total of $55,000 in damages, officials said.

Just after 6:30 a.m., fire crews responded to a rubbish fire on the roof of a building at 305 Perry St. An estimated $5,000 in damage was done to the building with no damage done to its contents. Officials said the cause of the fire was identified as malicious and it remains under investigation.

Fire crews responded to another fire just after 7 a.m. at 23 Deschler St., which previously caught fire and caused an estimated $180,000 in damage in September. During the week it caught fire that month, three additional fires occurred within one mile of each other. A city spokesperson said the fires are still under investigation.

The 2 1/2-story structure was vacant and the fire started on the first floor, extending to the second floor, officials said.

An estimated $50,000 in damage was done to the building with no damage done to its contents. Officials asked the public and emergency personnel to be cautious around the back of the structure due to hazardous conditions. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The fires on Ohio and Perry Streets are believed to be unrelated to the Deschler Street fire, a city spokesperson said.
