Italy legend Andrea Pirlo feels the Club World Cup will be a ‘great experience for everyone’, but ‘unfortunately’ he can’t play while Inter and Juventus’ will have ‘the right motivation.’

The former midfielder released an interview with FIFA about the 2025 Club World Cup.

“Unfortunately, I can’t play in it [because] it would have been great [to experience] this format,”said the 2006 Italy World Cup winner.

“The best clubs in the world are competing, so I am sure FIFA has done an excellent job and it will be a great experience for everyone.”

The tournament will be held in the USA, where Pirlo played as a footballer for New Your City.

“There’s a lot of enthusiasm. People want to watch football because MLS (Major League Soccer) is growing a lot,” said the Maestro.

“Watching so many top teams is a true spectacle for all the fans, for the whole world and especially for the United States, where people watch games with such passion.”

Two of his former clubs, Inter and Juventus, are the Serie A clubs involved in the competition.

“They’re currently focusing on other things, like Serie A and the Champions League,” Pirlo concluded. “But when the time [for the Club World Cup] comes, they will manage the situation with the right motivation.”
