Last year in April, Bennett showed up at her parent’s Albuquerque home and said her baby was dead. An autopsy found meth in the baby’s system. Witnesses told police Bennett was a drug user and breastfed the infant. Six days earlier, Bennett led Albuquerque police on a chase, running red lights, and driving the wrong way down roads with the four-month-old in her lap.

Judge Stanley Whitaker sentenced Bennett to ten years behind bars.
