Alexandria man arrested on hit and run, multiple other charges after body found last week

An Alexandria man has been arrested in the case of a man whose body was found on MacArthur Drive last week, according to police.

Police arrested Jason Garry Fruge, 43, on Monday and booked him into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on charges of felony hit and run, having a suspended driver’s license, having a switched license plate, having an altered motor vehicle inspection, failure to register and not having insurance.

Fruge, who lives on Culpepper Road, remained in jail Tuesday morning with bail set at $201,400.

The victim has been identified as Robert Fink, 59. His body was found in the 1100 block of MacArthur Drive early on the morning of Sept. 19.

An investigation is continuing.
