Alim McNeill is in the concussion protocol

Date:

Defensive tackle Alim McNeill was added to the long list of injured Lions defensive players last Thursday and head coach Dan Campbell gave an update on his status when he spoke to reporters on Monday.

Campbell said that McNeill is in the concussion protocol. McNeill initially returned to the win over the Packers after being evaluated for a concussion in the first half, but was ruled out for the second half of the game.

With extended time between that game and the Lions’ Week 15 matchup with the Bills, there is hope that McNeill will be able to clear the protocol in time to play.

The Lions also played without defensive linemen Levi Onwuzurike, Josh Paschal, and D.J. Reader last Thursday. The practice week will shed light on whether any of them will be able to return against Buffalo.
