Charlie Woods made the first hole-in-one of his life on Sunday at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando during the second round of the PNC Championship.
He’s got 19 to go to catch up to Dad, 15-time major champion Tiger Woods.
Woods, a high school sophomore, drained a 7-iron from 175 yards out at the par-3 fourth hole as he and his father were contending in the annual holiday tournament that matches legendary PGA Tour players mostly with sons and grandsons.
Charlie, 15, didn’t seem to know the ball had gone in the hole. After some confusion over the shot — which bounced three times and went into the hole from the left — he smiled and was greeted with a bear hug from his father, who has 20 holes-in-ones.
At the time, the Woods team was one shot behind Vijay Singh of Ponte Vedra and his son Qass, who won the tournament in 2022. The ace put the Woods one shot head.
Tiger Woods’ list of holes-in-one includes only three on the PGA Tour, the last coming in the 1998 Sprint International. He was famed for making an ace at the 16th hole of the TPC Scottsdale in the 1997 WM Open, with fans throwing cups onto the green in celebration.
