Aries Monthly Horoscope

Date:

MONTH OF September

Flexibility is your September superpower, Aries, which is a good thing because this month, even the best-laid plans might need to be scrapped at a moment’s notice!

Until September 22, Virgo season is giving you a healthy dose of much-needed order and grounding. If only the rest of the sky would cooperate! The first three weeks of September deliver planetary plot twists that may require you to switch up your back-to-school or work routines—more than once! Even before we get to the fall equinox, we have two outer-planet retrogrades, a rare Uranus-Pluto trine AND an eclipse.

The month opens with two major retrograde (backward) pivots that can dramatically shift the course of events. On September 1, changemaker Uranus makes a pivot in steady Taurus and your second house of money. That same day, Pluto, which has been retrograde since May 2, backs out of Aquarius and into strategic Capricorn, making its final lap through the sign that rules governments, the economy and hierarchy for the last time in our lives.

The cosmic patterns get even more interesting because Pluto and Uranus will form a harmonious 120-degree trine all month long, setting the stage for profound transformation—on a personal and global level. These two cosmic giants last met up in a similar fashion in the early 1920s, ushering in radical social, economic and political change. Throw in a powerful midmonth partial lunar eclipse in Pisces (more on that shortly) and you’ve got yourself a dynamic cosmic setup that could rock—and revamp—your whole world!

One key message of this month? Work through lingering fears and controlling tendencies that are holding you back, Ram. You don’t have to do it alone. This reminder can’t be overstated for your solo-act sign, especially in the final months of 2024. As spontaneous as you can be, you also have a systematic part of your brain that’s adept at connecting dots and putting together a master plan. When you have a clear goal in mind—and keep yourself motivated—nobody can power to the finish line quite like you.

The trick this September will be keeping calm inwardly when your outer world may be anything but that. With disruptive Uranus beginning its five-month retrograde in Taurus and your second house of money and security, budget and income are top of mind. Rein in impulsive back-to-school shopping, Aries. Your finances could fluctuate between now and January 30, 2025, so keep your spending in check and trim all extraneous costs.

Retrogrades can bring the past back around, and Uranus retrograde could reinvigorate something that was back-burnered or bottlenecked. A stagnated project could pick up speed suddenly—and if it does, give it your attention. Money owed (either to you or by you) may come due. A former colleague or client could resurface with an unexpected freelance gig, or you might revisit an old passion project and finally figure out how to monetize it. Who knows? With a little polish—and a second look—you could have a genius innovation on your hands.

If you’ve been considering a professional pivot, you’re supported when shadowy Pluto, which has been retrograde since May 2, slips out of Aquarius and back into Capricorn on September 1. This will send potent transformational energy through your tenth house of career, Ram. It’s also the grand finale of Pluto’s 16-year transit through Capricorn, which began on November 27, 2008 (yes, right after another tide-turning U.S. election). Over this long period, Pluto has slowly and indelibly shifted your professional path, your relationship with power and authority and your public image.

In March 2023, we got our first glimpse of Pluto’s next act, which will be a two-decade voyage through Aquarius and your eleventh house of community. Pluto first entered the sign of the Water Bearer (for the first time since 1798!), then darted back and forth between traditional Capricorn and progressive Aquarius throughout the rest of 2023 and 2024, leaving the world torn between old patterns and future ideals.

On September 1, Pluto now reverses into Capricorn until November 19, before officially moving forward into Aquarius for an uninterrupted 20-year run. For the rest of Pluto’s time in Capricorn, you might find yourself negotiating power dynamics—and possibly power struggles—with people in authority positions. If you’re the one in this role, you may have to create firmer boundaries with those who answer to you.

With intense Pluto in this structured zone, anything (and anyone) that feels controlling or oppressive could set off your signature Aries ire. Men and fathers fall in this zodiac zone; a relationship with a key male in your life could dramatically shift now. If old resentments flare up, know that this is an optimal time for release and repair. You could find resolution once and for all.

Check in on the current structures of your life now too. Are they strong enough to support your goals and plans? It will be hard to ignore the nagging feelings you have if you’re not doing what’s true to you. But before you upheave everything in your life, be aware that Pluto rules the unconscious, including the ways we project our own issues onto others. Is that iron-fisted manager or “nightmare” client reflecting some part of you, or are they driving up feelings you need to confront? Don’t block the messenger! Look deeper, Aries. Once you resolve the conflict within yourself, you may find that the triggering situation gets resolved on its own.

Whew! Mind you, this is ALL unfolding on the very first day of the month. On September 2, the Virgo new moon charges up your systematic sixth house of work, wellness and organization, teeing up some fall lifestyle overhauls. Book overdue medical checkups, get trial passes to a few fitness studios, deep-clean your house and fridge.

Give the Virgo new moon a few days to gel, though. On September 3, you won’t know whether to be productive or blow off steam as a challenging 90-degree square forms between ambitious Mars and dreamy Neptune, pulling you in two different directions. You’re SO ready for an epic #girldinner with extra dirty martinis flowing. But then again, wouldn’t you love to squeeze in a few hours of work on your passion project? If possible, try to do a little bit of both. Life is sweeter with balance, after all! Work at your home office in the morning, then tear up the town later.

Make an effort to get out because the next day, September 4, Mars moves out of Gemini and into Cancer, activating your emotional and domestic fourth house until November 3. Your attention and desire to be home will be strong for the next couple months, so take a beat!

With your ruler, Mars, in cozy Cancer, you could feel more introverted and tender, opting for TV on the couch over noisy bar hangs—just in time for binging Netflix’s Emily in Paris two-part release. Action-oriented Mars moving through your fourth house of family might also make you nostalgic for your kin. It’s an excellent time to pay loved ones a visit or catch up with your inner circle over a home-cooked meal—especially after that showstopper of an August! Some Rams could find themselves knee-deep in a home renovation project or in the middle of a move.

Mood alert: September 8 brings the annual Sun-Saturn opposition, a day when that icy glass of summer lemonade looks decidedly half-empty. Rather than getting down on yourself and others, here’s a worthwhile mission: uncover where boundaries are needed in your life.

Have you fallen into a role of codependent enabling and sacrifice? As the Sun opposes boundary hound Saturn, you may need to recalibrate a few relationships. Or, if you’ve put up a few too many barriers, you’ll see where to let go and open up to receiving support. You may have to trade some ego or a sense of control, but it will be a small price to pay to know that others have your back!

If you’ve been playing too much by the books, you could feel fenced in and ready to run off-leash. But before you start smashing all the rules, think about whose feathers you’ll be ruffling in the process. This is not the day to risk torching important bridges. Following a few of your tried-and-true tactics will keep the power players on your side—while still creating room for innovation (and excitement!). And if you back up your offbeat plans with compelling facts, the more cautious types might just embrace your groundbreaking ideas.

After a hot start to the month, you get a bit of a breather—and a couple weeks to process everything that early September stirs up. Then, on September 17, eclipse season injects a healthy dose of change into our lives. Two of 2024’s four game-changing eclipses occur this month and next, shaking up the status quo.

Eclipses can push us off the fence if we’ve been wishy-washy or procrastinating. Unexpected events occur during eclipses, and a whole area of our lives can change in short order. This can feel either exciting or daunting. It’s best to stay alert and expect the unexpected during eclipse season and be open to what changes may come.

On September 17, the partial lunar (full supermoon) eclipse in Pisces starts a brand-new eclipse series on the Pisces/Virgo axis that stretches into February 2027. These eclipses will help you find a healthy balance between control and surrender, service and sacrifice, work and mental health. This isn’t a to-do list;, it’s an invitation to revamp these areas of your life over the next couple years. Whether that means getting into the best shape of your life or digging into deeply rooted childhood issues, psychological blocks or core wounds, the mid-September eclipse will catalyze your healing journey.

For you, Aries, the Pisces eclipse activates your twelfth house of surrender and solitude. You may need to slip away to a quiet retreat or simply carve out some space for yourself to think, process and get in touch with your higher self. Consider signing out of social media or even leaving your smartphone out of reach—for a whole day if you can. You might even feel inspired to pick up a prompted notebook like The Shadow Work Journal to help yourself move (literally) through a state of emotional catharsis.

Tapping into forgiveness will go a long way as you release a long-standing resentment or deep psychic wound. Try meditation, sending loving thoughts to everyone in your life, maybe even those who’ve done you wrong. Your power comes from letting go—not to have bragging rights or a sense of superiority, but to liberate your soul from these low-vibration emotions.

Pay attention to your dreams as sources of divine creative inspiration during this time, and highlight September 19-21 in your calendar for extra energetic hits of productivity and materialization. The meticulous Virgo Sun forms an earthy grand trine (a planetary three-part harmony) with innovative Uranus and transformative Pluto. You could generate some major income-boosting ideas—seemingly out of thin air.

With Uranus in your second house of revenue and routines and Pluto in your career-focused tenth house, it’s time to make some money moves! By being sharp and ahead of the curve, you could land a plum position before anyone else even gets word of it—or even design an entirely new role yourself. Go ahead, disrupt the status quo. (We told you September was going to be anything but “business as usual!”) This is a great moment to break out of a revenue slump or get over a professional plateau by doing something wildly off-script.

And then, at last, a moment of balance. When the Sun shifts into Libra and your seventh house of dynamic duos on September 22, the intensity of the month evens out a bit. For the next four weeks, prioritize your most important relationships and give them your devoted attention. Commitments could turn serious, whether for romance or business. Feel like you’re shouldering too much of the burden? Negotiate new arrangements that feel like more of a give-and-take.

Libra is your opposite sign, meaning the Sun is as far away as it can possibly be from the Aries sector of the sky for the next four weeks. Your own “solar power” may be weakened as a result. That’s all the more reason for you to lean on your inner circle and delegate to capable crew members.

If you’re always the one in charge, dial down the DIY and allow others to take the helm. Just because you CAN do it alone doesn’t mean you should, Aries! With another eclipse and more planetary plot twists ahead, move into autumn surrounded by your most supportive people.

Are you in or are you out? With Venus cruising through Libra and Scorpio—the signs that govern your relationship houses—fence-straddling simply won’t do. You could meet someone with long-lasting potential or finally feel ready to take the plunge with your longtime partner.

Until September 4, speedy Mars is rounding out a trip through Gemini and your communication zone that began on July 22. Want to make things official? Action is required!

But first: Could your list of “deal breakers” use a refresh? A good one could slip away if you have a mile-long list of requirements. You may need to loosen up your image of the perfect partner—along with the fantasy that one exists—especially when decisive Mars forms a challenging aspect to hazy Neptune on September 3. Even with an ideal mate, there’s no certainty because life doesn’t always go according to the best-laid plans.

Your emotional attunement will sharpen once Mars heads into tender Cancer and your domestic fourth house on the September 4, helping you feel into what’s right for you. Some Aries may need to make the tough choice to move on from a relationship (at least for now). And if you’re the one being strung along in a situationship? Set a hard boundary to create space for someone who is ready to love you now. Already found your person? Mars in Cancer brings an epic month of nesting, intimate bonding and snuggling your way into sweater weather.

Regardless of your relationship status, watch out for emotional fireworks when the Sun moves into partnership-oriented Libra and your seventh house of commitments on September 22. Venus will square off against intense Pluto the same day, which can bring romantic breakthroughs AND power struggles alike. If you can sit through a couple of uncomfortable confessions, you could unlock a new level of intimacy in your relationship that sets you up for a transformative cuffing season.

Right after the Venus-Pluto square, Venus exits Libra and plunges into the emotional depths of Scorpio from September 22 to October 17. Get ready! The love planet will be charging up your erotic and intimate eighth house.

Heads-up: The emerald-eyed monster could also surface while Venus is in Scorpio. Could someone (cough) be getting a little jealous? Tensions might arise from manipulative behavior or imbalanced power dynamics.

No, Aries, your needs are NOT too much. But by the same token, it’s not your partner’s responsibility to fulfill each and every need you have. With Venus in seductive Scorpio, simply reframing your requests could change the whole game. Try shifting from issuing demands to sharing desires. For instance, “I really need you to start making time for our date nights” can be remixed as a FOMO-inducing invitation like, “I just got a table at the hottest restaurant in town, and I’m taking one person—first dibs to whoever lets me know by 9:00 on Wednesday.” Then back up your words by taking your BFF if your love interest doesn’t bite

Major work changes are on the way, Ram. With a new moon and new Virgo/Pisces eclipse series activating your axis of service and surrender through 2027, prepare for some serious streamlining and system upgrades. These eclipses will give new meaning to your work-life balance in the near future!

For the first three weeks of the month, the Virgo Sun is heating up your organized sixth house, ramping up productivity and making you crave efficiency. Any areas of your life where you may have been slacking are spotlighted during this focused solar spell. Your career aspirations get a boost from the September 2 Virgo new moon. It’s an ideal date to set work goals that will help you finish the year strong. Ready for a whole new path? The Virgo new moon helps you put major professional pivots in motioclass=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” n.

This new moon also features a supportive trine between changemaker Uranus in your money zone and transformative Pluto in your career arena. It’s time to break out of an income slump or over a professional plateau. Could there be an old opportunity or project worth revisiting? You’ll be raring to ram headfirst into the next idea, but wait! Proceed with caution as ambitious Mars and dreamy Neptune turn up the confusion by pulling you in two different directions on September 3.

You’ll arrive at more clarity (and confidence) by midmonth, when the partial lunar eclipse in Pisces excavates your twelfth house of the subconscious, setting you free from any fearful patterns and anxious need to control outcomes.

Circle September 19 to 21 for extra energetic hits of productivity and organization. The diligent Virgo Sun forms a grand earth trine with liberator Uranus and obsessive Pluto, giving you an added ability to manifest outcomes and cross things off your to-do list at warp speed.

On September 22, the Sun blasts into Libra and your seventh house of balanced relationships for a month. Dynamic duos will get more of a boost as September wears on. Just watch for tensions with an authority figure or boss that could arise as Libra season starts with values-driven Venus forming a challenging aspect to shadowy Pluto on the same day. Watch the passive aggressiveness, Ram! Could you be bringing some unresolved family karma into the workplace? Stay aware. On September 30, a Sun-Mercury meetup in diplomatic Libra helps you negotiate a sweet contract or status upgrade!
