Arkansas basketball: John Calipari’s return to Kentucky will be broadcast on ESPN

Date:

The 2024-25 college basketball season will be one of intense anticipation and interest for Arkansas, which will be embarking on its first season under coach John Calipari.

Those who won’t be able to make it inside Bud Walton Arena or various other SEC venues now know how they’ll be able to watch the Razorbacks during what could be one of the most captivating seasons in the program’s storied history.

On Thursday, the SEC revealed television designations for its 144 conference games this season, with Arkansas taking part in some of the highest-profile matchups.

No game on the Razorbacks’ schedule will draw more attention, at least nationally, than its February 1 meeting with Kentucky, when Calipari will return to Rupp Arena to face off against the Wildcats after spending the previous 15 seasons as their coach. That game will air on ESPN, with an 8 p.m. CT tip.

Each of Arkansas’ 18 conference games will be broadcast on an ESPN network, though some of the specific channels have yet to be finalized.

Intrigue around the Razorbacks goes beyond Calipari. Following Eric Musselman’s departure to USC and Calipari’s hiring, Arkansas retooled its roster by bringing in a handful of Calipari’s Kentucky players — D.J. Wagner, Adou Thiero and Zvonimir Ivišić — high-profile transfers like Johnell Davis and the nation’s No. 3 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.
