Arkansas State Police confirms death in vehicle fire on I-530 in Pulaski County

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police has confirmed that a person died after being involved in a vehicle fire on Interstate 530 Friday afternoon.

Officials said the fire broke out after a driver hit a tree. ARDOT cameras showed traffic backed on I-530, Interstate 30 and Interstate 630 as crews worked to put out the fire.

Traffic cameras showed that lanes were impacted stretching from the south terminal interchange on I-530 to the downtown Little Rock area on I-30 near 3rd Street.

Cameras also showed that cars were lined up on the side of I-530. Arkansas State Police responded to the scene.

Officials have not identified the person killed in the incident.
