Arkansas women’s basketball lands Australian guard Bonnie Deas for ’25 class | Whole Hog Sports

Date:

Arkansas women’s basketball coach Mike Neighbors has landed the commitment of Australia standout Bonnie Deas for the 2025 class.

Deas, 5-9, was one of five Australians selected to the All-Female Basketball Without Borders Camp at WNBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix on July 19-21. The camp featured 40 of the top international high-school-age prospects from 24 different countries.

Basketball Without Borders has produced 11 WNBA players, including Croatia’s Nika Muhl (UConn) of the Seattle Storm and Brazil’s Kamilla Cardoso (South Carolina) of the Chicago Sky.

Deas, a guard, officially visited Arkansas on Sept. 10-11 and also officially visited Syracuse and Mississippi State. She had a visit Washington planned.

She averaged 13.8 points, 6 rebounds and 2.4 assists for Australia in the FIBA 18-under Asia Cup in China in June and helped her nation defeat China 96-79 in the finals. She shot 52.5% from the field and 75% from the free-throw line.

Deas signed one-year amateur deal with the Sydney Flames of the WNBL in August.
